PITTSBURGH (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) - With the Pennsylvania primary election still two months away, local political leaders are starting to line up behind Democratic presidential candidates.

Allegheny County Executive Rich Fitzgerald will run as a delegate for Joe Biden, according to the Post Gazette.

Mon Valley State Representative Austin Davis also supports Biden.

Pittsburgh Mayor Bill Peduto has yet to pick a candidate.

He favors a moratorium on new cracker plants but no ban on fracking.

“Candidates have already come out and said they want to ban fracking, which will be devastating not only to Western Pennsylvania but all area that . . . have been for 100 years dependant on fossil fuels for their livelihood,” said Peduto.

Peduto adds he doesn’t believe it’s fair, “to the families that have given over 100 years of building this country to tell them that in five years, you’re not longer going to have a job.”

County Controller Chelsa Wagner and PA’s Second Lady Giselle Fetterman will reportedly run as a delegates for Elizabeth Warren.
