Loaded Handgun Stopped At Pittsburgh International Security Checkpoint

It is the 30th gun stopped by the TSA at the airport this year

PITTSBURGH (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) - Another loaded handgun was stopped at a security checkpoint at Pittsburgh international this weekend.

On Saturday, TSA officials found the .380 caliber handgun in a Sewickley man's carry-on. He has been questioned and faces a civil penalty, usually 3,900 dollars for the first offense.

This is the 30th handgun stopped at Pittsburgh International checkpoints this year.

Last year, TSA officers caught 37 firearms at airport security checkpoints last year.

Even if travelers have a concealed carry permit, they are not allowed to bring a gun past a TSA checkpoint.
