PITTSBURGH (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) - After an extended hiatus to treat HPV-related cancer near his throat, Marty Griffin returned to “The Inside Story” Monday.

Griffin began his show talking about his current state of health. Still dealing with the effects of radiation and chemotherapy, he says he lost 45 lbs., cannot taste any food, and either has too much saliva or none in his mouth.

Still getting his voice back, Griffin says he expects to be back to 100 percent in a month and took calls of support from listeners who have missed him.

Griffin says he isn’t complaining and was inspired by others fighting cancer while at the UPMC Hillman Cancer Center and is thankful for his wife and family's support during his battle.

He has also received over 1000 letters of support from friends, listeners and strangers in the past few months and is grateful for each one.
