PITTSBURGH (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) - Tuesday's Mega Millions jackpot has swelled to $522 million, or over $308 million if you take the cash payout.

Pennsylvania Lottery Spokesman Gary Miller tells KDKA Radio, “It’s the fifth largest jackpot in the game’s history and the 11th largest in U.S. lottery history.”

Pennsylvania residents are no stranger to winning the mega Millions.

“The Pennsylvania Lottery has sold two jackpot winning Mega Millions tickets since we joined the game in 2010,” said Miller

That was won by a man from Pittsburgh

Miller adds the lottery is selling 2,000 tickets per minute statewide.

Players are encouraged to play responsibly. Tickets remain on sale until 9:59 p.m.
