PITTSBURGH (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) - I know, I know, it's been awhile.

But the weather hasn't exaxctly been exciting since the snow stopped falling here in the Pittsburgh area.

Sure, it's rained...LIKE EVERY DAY since the end of April, but where the fun in that?

Yes we've had our stints with flash floods and mudslides, but hey, at least your not on Hawaii with that angry volcano.

Anyway, here we are, May 25th...SEVEN MONTHS FROM CHRISTMAS...and this weekend is the unofficial start of summer.

If you're one of the millions of people hitting the road this weekend. It's gonna be a HOT one...

Starting today, temperatues will be creeping above normal, and so will the humidity...

No day this weekend (including Monday) will be a complete washout, but the hot weather will create unstable conditions in the afternoon, spanning pop up thunderstroms, also known as "Pulse Storms".

If your holiday weekend plans involve area waterways, The US Army Corps Of Engineers has a message for you...

After you get your fill of burgers and dogs this weekend, the weather for early next week looks seasonal with only a small chance of showers Wednesday and Thursday.

Happy Memorial Day. Just make sure your pool is up to snuff...
