PITTSBURGH (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) - KDKA Radio’s Marty Griffin is teaming up with Monte Cello’s restaurants to distribute 1,000 free pizzas next Wednesday.

Owner Joe Wadlow tells KDKA Radio that anyone can call one of the locations (Ross Township, Wexford, Cranberry, Hampton and Shaler) next Tuesday from 4 p.m. – 9 p.m. and Wednesday from 9 a.m. to noon.

Phone numbers:

  • Ross Township – 412-821-0600
  • Wexford - 724-935-4151
  • Cranberry - 724-772-3133
  • Hampton - 412-487-7100
  • Shaler - 412-784-0888

When you call during those times tell them that “Marty sent me” and you will be able to schedule a pick up time for your free pizza.

Pick up will be from noon – 3 p.m. on Wednesday, April 1 (no, it’s not an April Fool’s Day gag).

Wadlow tells Griffin that each location may have a different pick up policy to help with social distancing so ask the location you call what their plans are.

Wadlow says it’s going to be challenging logistically but they will be ready.

“It’s still going to be tough but we’ll do it,” Wadlow told Griffin.

Wadlow adds that any first responder who shows up in uniform from now through April 1 will get a free 10 cut pizza.

With so many people struggling financially during the COVID-19 outbreak, every meal counts.

In the meantime, Monte Cello’s is open for business at all five locations for pick up. They also offer delivery at all locations except for Ross Township.
