Names And Conditions Of Officers Injured In Saturday's Synagogue Shooting Released

Two have been released and two are still in the hospital

PITTSBURGH (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) - Pittsburgh Police have released the names and conditions of the officers injured in Saturday’s mass shooting at the Tree of Life Synagogue in Squirrel Hill.

Pittsburgh’s Public Safety Department says Officer Timothy Matson is still in the hospital after suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Officer Daniel Mead is also still in the hospital with a gunshot wound to the hand.

Officer Anthony Burke with a gunshot wound to the hand and officer Michael Smidga with a graze wound and/or shrapnel wound to the head have been released.

In a statement officials said, “These officers, and countless others, acted heroically in running towards gunfire to save citizens and their fellow officers, as did many others from Pittsburgh Public Safety and neighboring law enforcement agencies."
