PITTSBURGH (NewsRadio 1020 KDKA) – The New American Road Trip is making its way into Pittsburgh this evening.

Pittsburgh native, JC Coccoli comedian and emcee of the event tells the KDKA Radio Afternoon News, “I am a part of an incredible project called the New American Road Trip that is taking an electric car from San Francisco to New York City in a fight to prevent climate change and stop it from happening.”

“And being from Pittsburgh is such an honor because we come from steel city, coal town and the fact that I get to go around and see the jobs and innovation and what’s happening in electric cars and mobile transportation and the way people are moving around different cities is so cool.”

Coccoli adds that she is a yinzer that loves technology.

“I appreciate innovation so when everyone is thinking about the industries we grew up in, the transition is inevitable but we want to take people along for the ride, which is so cool because there are jobs out there, they are different than putting you in coal mines, they are smarter and healthier and better for the planet.”

The transition into the new technology isn’t leaving people behind; it wants people to learn how to be a part of the progression of the future to help the climate.

Coccoli will be emceeing the event tonight with Mayor Bill Peduto at the Jerome Bettis Grill 36 from 6 p.m. to 8:15 p.mp.
