HARRISBURG (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) - A new scam is targeting hunters and anglers.

The Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission and the state Game Commission have received reports from several people who tried to purchase licenses online, but never received them.

Officials say licenses and permits should only be purchased online through PFBC’s Outdoor Shop or in-person from a retail license issuing agent.

Third-party websites that try to charge additional fees are fraudulent, and could put personal information at risk.

Anyone who visits one of these websites should report it to one of the state’s commissions.
