PITTSBURGH (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) - Scoobi is Pittsburgh’s newest means of transportation. It’s an electric scooter-share service that riders can access via the Scoobi app

The service requires all riders to have a valid driver’s license and watch a brief training video after downloading the app.

Each scooter is equipped with headlights and turn signals and is capable of reaching 30 miles an hour.

Scoobi CEO Mike Moran says they have a permit to operate locally, including free parking in many areas of the city riders can locate on a map via the app.

The rental fee is $5 for first 15 min + .25 for each additional minute = $16.25 for the first hour and every additional hour. There is no limit for how long a rider can rent an electric scooter.

The scooters are not permitted on sidewalks or bike trails.
