Carb lovers rejoice! A new study shows that a moderate amount of carbohydrates, as a part of your diet, will actually help you to live longer. Scientists at a Boston hospital say getting about 50 percent of calories from carbs could increase your life by as much as four years.

Low-carb diets, like the Atkins diet, recommend eating less fruit, vegetables and grains and instead more meat. Experts say this loss of nutrients could cause inflammation and increased aging.

But eating too much more than the recommended amount of carbs could also make you more at risk for premature death.
