Apartment Complex Fire In Oakland Injures 2 Firefighters

Crews fought flames at a 4-story complex on De Raud Street on Saturday afternoon

PITTSBURGH (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) - More than 70 people were forced out of their homes by a five-alarm fire at an apartment complex in Oakland on Saturday afternoon.

Crews had a tough time attacking the flames at the 4-story complex on De Raud Street. Two firefighters were treated for minor injuries.

The fire rekindled on Sunday afternoon and the building has reportedly been condemned. 

The cause of the fire has yet to be determined.

The complex provided housing for 74 people across 48 apartments.

A temporary shelter for residents has been set up by the Red Cross at the David L Lawrence Convention Center.
