PITTSBURGH (NewsRadio 1020 KDKA) – The widow of the Larimer man killed by Pittsburgh Police last year has filed a federal wrongful death lawsuit against the city, Chief Scott Schubert and the three officers involved.

52 year-old Brenda Richmond called police to report a burglary in January 2017. She claims responding Zone 5 officers fired into her Finley Street home "indiscriminately," killing 57-year-old Christopher M. Thompkins.

Police said they were returning fire that ended up being Thompkins shooting the intruder, 23-year-old Juan Brian Jeter-Clark.

The dictrict attorney's office has been reviewing the case, but has not announced any decisions. The officers have not been identified.
