The Rivers Casino Was One of Them

HARRISBURG (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) - Nine of Pennsylvania’s 13 licensed casinos – including all of the casinos in the Philadelphia region and The Rivers Casino, are rolling the dice on internet gaming.

Monday marked one deadline in the internet gaming application process.

Gaming Control Board spokesman Doug Harbach says if they are approved, those casinos that applied by Monday will be able to get licenses for three available forms of casino-based gaming on the internet – slot machines, table games and poker – for a single $10 million dollar license fee.

After that, the fee for each form of internet gaming will cost $4 million. So what’s next?...

“Once these petitions are reviewed and deemed complete, the board must deny or approve them within 90 days.” saidHarbach.

After that, Harbach says there will be a better idea of when internet gaming in Pennsylvania will start.

The gaming board is also working to launch sports betting in the state.
