ALIQUIPPA (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) – Police are interviewing potential witnesses, reviewing security video, and downloading content from an least one cell phone in their investigation into the murder of 33 year old Rachel Deltondo. She was shot multiple times in front of her mother’s home on Buchanan Street Sunday night before 11 PM. Neighbors reported hearing at least ten shots.

Beaver County District Attorney David Lozier met with county detectives, Aliquippa police, and state police this morning to compare notes. He said residents should not be worried. “Police officers from multiple municipalities live in that neighborhood. It is a very stable neighborhood.”

But residents like Linda Gaskins remain concerned. “… the safety of Aliquippa, the people, we hardly know what’s going on around us unless it’s something like this.”

Lozier isn’t talking about any suspects or persons of interest. And he isn’t linking the murder to an anonymous email sent to Deltondo’s employer, Lincoln Park School, late last year that resulted in her suspension. Lozier says a police investigation of an incident two years ago when Lozier was found in a car with a male teen did not result in charges and didn’t warrant them.

“It’s a shame that this woman was painted with a police report that had been written that did not result in criminal charges. It was a personal vendetta against her at the time,” Lozier said.

Authorities have not named any suspects or a motive for the shooting Sunday night.
