PITTSBURGH (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) - North Park Lounge in McCandless is closed until further notice due to an employee testing positive for coronavirus.

Owner Mark Baranowski says the restaurant is taking an “aggressive stance,” similarly to what it did in March.

The location says they recently installed a new air filtration system that continuously disinfects the restaurant 24 hours a day.

While they say the system kills over 99 percent of pathogens in the air, the system can’t protect employees while they are out of the restaurant.

North Park Lounge in McCandless will reopen when management feels “100% certain that our environment is safe.”

On Thursday, Mad Mex in Monroeville announced they were temporarily closing after an employee tested positive for coronavirus.

On Friday, Allegheny County reported 61 new COVID-19 positive cases, the most since April.
