PITTSBURGH (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) - The Allegheny County Health Department has closed down Las Palmas #2 in Oakland after a reinspection found initial health violations were not rectified.

A Consumer Alert was issued for the grocery/eatery on Atwood Street on January 24 when inspectors found a roach infestation along with inadequate handwashing facilities, a leaking toilet and a certified manager not available.

The reinspection Monday found that the first violations were not corrected and inspectors discovered another issue, lack of sanitized dished and utensils.

The report says the facility was treated twice in the past 11 days for roaches but dead roaches were not removed and affected areas were not sanitized.
