PITTSBURGH (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) - Local social media is buzzing over efforts to identify and boycott businesses owned by supporters of President Donald Trump.

Trump protestors have been compiling a list of local small businesses which are owned by Trump supporters because they want to put people out of business.

Brian Broome, Pittsburgh blogger tells KDKA Radio's Lynne Hayes-Freeland, “I think that businesses that directly donate to Donald Trump or support him in some ways have decided because of their own convictions, to not support those business."

Mr. Broome wrote a post about a local business that he was no longer going to support because of their beliefs and it turned into something quite different when a website that calls for businesses that support a certain ideology to fail got a hold of his post.

“There is apparently some website out there where people have decided that not only do they want to boycott businesses they want to actively shut them down,” said Broome. “I want to be clear, I don’t support that, I only support everybody’s individual right to not give their money to a business (don’t reflect their beliefs).”

Broome adds he has been called a fascist more than he can count in the past few days.

“I don’t believe in harming anyone actively, I’m not targeting businesses it’s the actual opposite of targeting someone, you just ignore them and you don’t give them your money.”
