(Newsradio 1020 KDKA) - A police chief in Jefferson County confirms his stepson is one of the two people seen on video torturing an injured deer.

PennLive reports that according to Brookville solicitor James Dennison, Brookville Police Chief Vince Markle's stepson is pictured in the video that surfaced over the weekend.

It shows the young men stomping on and kicking an injured deer, laughing and pulling its antlers.

The Game Commission's investigation is still underway.

In a Facebook post, the Commission says "While we understand the desire for a swift response... the proper legal steps must be followed."

The outrage has also been misplaced.

The family of one of the boys’ accused reportedly owns a BBQ restaurant in Brookville and the opporator of the blog Yinz Love BBQ say they are getting flooded with graphic images on Facebook.

A post on Facebook says:

Yinz Love BBQ is not Devil's BBQ.

What happened last week with the deer by the individuals from Brookville was horrendous and we were appalled. Based on the flood of comments this week I need to stress in no way, shape, or form are we Devil's BBQ or associated with them. We're from Pittsburgh, more than 2 hours southwest from Devil's BBQ.

Please refrain from posting the deer video and flooding posts from almost a year ago with threats, photoshopped photos, and rants. Coming from a family of hunters, we are disgusted and can appreciate your outrage but this page is not the place to express it.

Thank you.

It was reported earlier the individuals seen on video are from Brookville. So far, no charges filed.

The story has gone national with an online petition asking for criminal charges for those involved in the torture has over 543,500 signatures as of Friday morning.
