Talks continue between the PIAA and state health officials to determine if any sports can be played and when.

“I’m always going to keep an open mind, but again we need to focus on what the priorities should be here and I think that is to get our kids an education and anything that interferes with that we’re going to be a little suspicious of,” said Wolf.

Wolf also responded to the criticism he has received since the recommendation last week.

“I’d recommend we don’t do any sports between now and January 1, that was my recommendation, school districts are going to do whatever they decide they want to do,” said Wolf.

Wolf tells KDKA Radio, it’s up to schools to decide.

The plea came from the Executive Director of the WPIAL Amy Scheuneman who calls the recommendation, “uncalculated, inconsistent and unfair.”
