Pennsylvania Reaches 56,611 Cases Of COVID-19

HARRISBURG Pa (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) In the daily release from the Pennsylvania Health Department, there have been an additional 1,295 cases of Coronavirus confirmed statewide.

These new cases bring the total to 56,611 across the state of Pennsylvania.

The Depatment also confirmed an additional 19 deaths, bringing the statewide death total to 3,707.

To date, there have been 227,772 negative tests across the state.

Pennsylvania is one of only six states to confirm over 50,000 cases of COVID-19, behind New York, New Jersey, Massachusetts, Illinois, and California.

Of the total confirmed cases, 11,645 have come from residents of nursing of personal care homes, as well as 1,645 employees.

These cases come from 539 different facilities across 44 counties.

2,529 of the total death count has been reported from nursing or personal care homes.

Of the total number of cases, 3,759 have been health care workers.
