Pit Airport: Non-Stop To San Diego Starts In August

The Year Round Flight Will Operate Mondays & Fridays

PITTSBURGH (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) - There's good news for travelers looking to get to the West Coast.

Frontier Airlines says starting August 13th they will begin non stop service to San Diego.

Airport Spokesman Bob Kerlik telling KDKA Radio.

"Right now it's scheduled to be twice weekly, both on Mondays and Fridays, and it's going to be year round". Said Kerlik.

It's the first non-stop to San Diego since 2007.

The flight will take off from Pittsburgh shortly before 10am and land a little before noon. Return flights leave San Diego just after 10am and land in Pittsburgh shortly before 7pm.

The Pittsburgh route is one of 15 additional routes nationawide that were announed by Frontier on Tuesday.

The Pittsburgh to San Diego flight will use an Airbus A321.
