Pitt Student Dies After Being Hit By Port Authority Bus

PITTSBURGH (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) A student from the University of Pittsburgh has died after being hit by a Port Authority bus on Saturday in Oakland.

The student was identified as senior anthropology major, Barbara Como of Chester County, PA.

The incident took place at the intersection of Fifth Avenue and De Sotto Street at about 12:15 p.m.

A statement from the university said, “As the Pitt community mourns the loss of one of our students, we send our heartfelt sympathy to her family and friends.”

University and city police are assisting Port Authority in the investigation.

The university will be offering crisis support for students.
