The late Mac Miller received his first nomination for his final album "Swimming," released in August just a month before the 26-year-old rapper's death.

Dan + Shay's song "Tequila" landed the country duo two nominations. Member Dan Smyers is from Wexford.

The Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra clinched three nominations for Beethoven: Symphony No. 3; Strauss: Horn Concerto No. 1.
