Pittsburgh Gets Perfect Score On Municipal Equality Index

Human Rights Campaign finds city practices inclusive for LGBTQ residents

PITTSBURGH (NewsRadio 1020 KDKA) — For the second year in a row, Pittsburgh has scored a perfect score on the Human Rights Campaign's Municipal Equality Index.

The survey looks at local non-discrimination laws, municipal services and employment benefits, law enforcement practices and LGTBQ leadership inclusion.

Philadelphia and Allentown also received perfect scores. State College was close with a score of 98. Erie had the lowest score this year with 50.

The survey looked at 506 municipalities of various sizes across the country.
