Pittsburgh Police overtime costs soar for Antwon Rose protests

PITTSBURGH (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) - Police have been working 12-hour shifts since the fatal shooting of Antwon Rose II by an East Pittsburgh officer. Protests over the teen's death have taken to the streets of Pittsburgh costing the Police Bureau more than $1 million. 

KDKA Radio's Marty Griffin says the outrage on the internet regarding the overtime pay and protests is amazing . Folks are outraged and truly think that the cops should go in, arrest everyone and "bust some heads." I think it's outrageous and a ridiculous idea.

A spokesman for the mayor’s office, said the police bureau would make up the difference before the end of the year.
