PITTSBURGH (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) - Starbucks customers are coping without their iced coffee Tuesday as some 8,000 locations are closed for employee anti-biased training.

Customers at the Market Square Starbucks who beat the 2 p.m. closure are generally supportive of the store closing this afternoon so employees can receive anti-bias training.

"I think it’s definitely a good thing. It makes people aware as to how everything needs to change,” said one costumer.

“It never hurts to be better educated as to your awareness of other people’s plights and issues so I don’t think that’s necessarily a bad thing,” said another.

175,000 employees nationwide are  receiving the training after two African-American men were arrested at a Philadelphia Starbucks last month.

The locations will reopen Wednesday morning.
