Pittsburgh Tops List Of Best Places To Be A Teacher

The region did well in every area of the study

PITTSBURGH (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) - A new study says Pittsburgh is the place to be if you’re teacher.

Financial website SmartAsset ranks Pittsburgh as the best place in America for teachers to work and live, doing well in every factor they looked at

In a statement, SmartAsset says “The average income for teachers in the Pittsburgh metro area is more than $66,000 per year, a top-40 score and that number is on the rise. From 2015 to 2017, the average income for teachers increased by 9%.”

They add the numbers are more impressive when you consider coast of living.

The study factored in income, income growth, job growth, state union strength, housing costs, violent crime and other areas to find the best places.
