PITTSBURGH (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) - After Sunday’s victory, the New England Patriots are now tied with the Pittsburgh Steelers for most Super Bowl wins with six.

The “Stairway to Seven” slogan can now apply to both teams.

However, Chris Ithen, Owner of Ithen Global in Grove City, holds that U.S. Trademark.

"Back in 2008 I believe was the first time it came to light. We saw it coming, so we started the process back then," Ithen said on an interview with KDKA Radio on Monday morning.

If you think his name sounds familiar, he also created the “Stronger Than Hate” design after the Tree of Life tragedy.

Since Ithen took an early jump, the New England Patriots cannot use the “Stairway to Seven” slogan; unless they want violate copyright infringement laws.

“All of the sudden the shirt has a lot more intensity to it,” Ithen explains.

A final version of the design is not yet set.
