PITTSBURGH (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) - There is a new member of the Pittsburgh Zoo & PPG Aquarium family: a one-month-old clouded leopard cub!

The zoo introduced the adorable little girl on Thursday morning in a Facebook Live video.

Mom Saya gave birth to two cubs, but, sadly, one of the two passed away shortly after birth.

While box cameras in the nest showed that Saya was very attentive to her surviving, female cub, staff also noticed that the cub was not nursing on her own.

After 12 hours of the cub not nursing, the zoo staff stepped in to take her to the Animal Care Center.

The veterinary team ran tests on the cub and found out that she had not been nursing at all. After receiving this information, the team came to the difficult decision to hand-rear the cub moving forward.

She will remain at the Animal Care Center where staff will give her a bottle several times a day with a mammal milk supplement containing vitamins and minerals.

Clouded leopards are endangered animals, with fewer than 10,000 left in the wild.
