PITTSBURGH (KDKA Radio) - Pittsburgh police are investigating an assault that happened at a North Side gas station, which was caught on video and went viral on social media, due to its "disturbing nature."

According to information from police, a fight occured at a gas station on Brighton Road Friday evening between two male owners of the gas station and two female customers.

An argument began when the customers claimed a pump malfunctioned and demanded a refund, but the owners refused to issue a refund. A verbal confrontation then turned violent. A video taken by a bystander shows the gas station owners striking one of the female customers in the back of the head multiple times and an employee dragging the other customer by her hair across the ground.

After reviewing the video footage, police determined that charges should be filed against the gas station owners and the employee and have filed paperwork with the Allegheny County District Attorney’s Office.

Police say the video showing the assault on these women is particularly disturbing as multiple men held down the women while punching them repeatedly.

Anyone who may have witnessed the incident is asked to call Zone 1 detectives at (412) 323-7201.
