PITTSBURGH (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) - Allegheny County police are warning of a dating app scam in which a male victim received unsolicited nude pictures from a female he thought was between the ages of 16 and 18.

He deleted them but soon received a call from someone claiming to be from Allegheny County Police saying he was under investigation for having nude photos of an underage female.

He was offered a so-called waiver fee of 1,250 dollars to avoid prosecution.

That's when the victim called county police who say there are likely fake profiles of young women on dating apps to lure unsuspecting men.

So far no arrest.

Anyone with any information should contact Allegheny County Police at 1-833-ALL-TIPS.
