PITTSBURGH (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) - President Trump tweeted Wednesday that he was “treated very nicely yesterday in Pittsburgh”, during his visit to the Tree of Life synagogue where 11 people were shot and killed and six others were wounded.

The president and First Lady paid tribute to the 11 lives lost and were joined by Trump’s daughter Ivanka Trump and son-in-law Jared Kushner, who are Jewish.

The Trumps also went to UPMC Presbyterian hospital to visit with victims still recovering and to talk with hospital staff.

The president was welcomed by Rabbi Jeffery Myers, who was leading services when the shooting began on Saturday, but other Jewish groups did not think it was appropriate for Mr. Trump to be there while they were grieving.

Trump said in the tweet the protest was small and that it was “staged far away” from where they were.
