MIDLAND, Texas (1010 WINS) – A suspect was shot and killed in central Texas Saturday evening after he or she reportedly opened fire "at random," injuring 10 to 30 people.

Midland Police said the shooter was killed in a Cinergy entertainment center in Odessa, Texas, after a manhunt by police.

The update came after police said they were searching for two suspects in separate vehicles, possibly a gold vehicle and a "hijacked" U.S. mail carrier truck.

"There is no active shooter at this time. All agencies are investigating reports of possible suspects," Midland Police wrote on Facebook.

The New York Times was reporting that the mayor of Midland says at least two people were killed and up to 20 others injured after at least one gunman targeted motorists on highways in the state.

“They are shooting at random,” Mayor Jerry Morales said. “We have two fatalities and up to 20 injuries.”
