PITTSBURGH (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) - Owners of the nearly-empty Century Three Mall are contracting with consultants in an attempt to redevelop the property.

That's according to Bankruptcy filings reviewed by the Post-Gazette.

The mall is working on McKnight Realty Partners and real estate firm Hanna Langholz Wilson Ellis, both based Downtown.

Century Three Mall PA LLC filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in September.

JC Penney is the only tenant still open.

The mall was built in 1979 and there was an $8 million renovation project in 1997. The mall has total of 1,290,000 square feet and is three stories tall.

At one time the mall was the largest in the Pittsburgh in terms of store count with over 200 retail and food stores.
