PITTSBURGH (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) - A person of interest is in custody in the shooting death of off-duty Pittsburgh Police officer Calvin Hal.

The Post-Gazette reports that 30-year-old Christian Bey is being questioned by police.

Bey is not currently charged with any crime related to the shooting of Officer Hall and is being held on a parole violation.

According to court records Bey has a long history of drug charges and convictions that date back to 2008.

He has also faced driving related charges including DUI, reckless endangerment, firearms violations and more.

Officer Hall was visiting family in Homewood when he reportedly broke up a confrontation across the street from where he was at. As he walked away from the agreement, he was shot three times in the back.

He died from his injuries three days later. Hall's family released a statement Thursday.

The funeral for Officer Hall will take place early next week at Soldiers and Sailors Hall in Oakland.
