Rivers Casino is set to reopen on Friday at 9:00 amunder the latest COVID-19 guidelines from the Allegheny County Health Department.

The casino closed on Friday July 3, under the original order from County Health Director Dr. Debra Bogen that all bars, restaurants, night clubs, casinos and events with 25 or more people were ordered to close for one week.

Under a new order issued on Wednesday, the casino is able to reopen, but the indoor dining and drinking remains prohibited, though some restaurants in the casino will offer take out service.

Also, masks are required at all times, no smoking of any kind inside the casino. There will be designated smoking areas outside.

"We thank the Allegheny County Health Department for its confidence and for the important work they’re doing," said Rivers Casino General Manager Bill Keena. "As a regulated business, we have a natural culture of compliance. We strive daily to meet or exceed all health and safety standards and to adapt quickly as new information becomes available."

The casino says that all previous COVID-19 mitigation protocols will also remain in place. The casino will be open weekdays from 9am to 4am and then 24 hours beginning Thursdays at 9:00 am until Mondays at 4:00 am.
