PITTSBURGH (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) - If you are traveling during Memorial Day Weekend, you may see a wave of individuals on motorcycles. These men and women are known as the Rolling Thunder.

This will be their final year traveling through the nation's capital to honor our prisoners of war and soldiers who are missing in action.

However, the tradition will still go on.

"What they are planning to do is to have local chapters throughout the country replicate the ride that's been going on for the last 32 years and bring that to our local communities," said Nikki Mendicino, advocate for the Rolling Thunder, during an interview with KDKA Radio on Friday.

"It's going to give folks in local communities a chance to participate for those that maybe never got the chance to go to Washington D.C."

You can hear Nikki's full interview and learn more about the Rolling Thunder below.
