Army Combat Veteran And Author Sean Parnell Will Challenge Conor Lamb In 2020

They will battle for the seat in Pennsylvania's 17th Congressional District

PITTSBURGH (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) - Army Combat Veteran, Author and Republican Sean Parnell will run for Congress in 2020, representing Pennsylvania’s 17th District.  

He will be opposed by Democratic incumbent Conor Lamb.

Parnell does not want to see the state cut fracking and other energy related jobs.  

“Energy jobs and union jobs here in Western Pennsylvania are a pillar and​ staple of our economy and somebody needs to protect them. Connor lamb, he voted to ban offshore drilling, he voted to block President Trump's withdrawal from the Paris Climate Accords,” Parnell said during an interview with KDKA Radio on Friday.

“Despite what he (Lamb) says here in district -he's not a moderate, he doesn't have the backs of energy, and how long before the political winds shift and he votes to ban fracking, along with people like Elizabeth Warren?”

Pennsylvania’s 17th District includes Beaver County, parts of Allegheny County, and small area in Butler County.

Parnell is an Army combat veteran who served in Afghanistan and wrote a book about it.

Lamb is a former Marine and federal prosecutor whose grandfather was the state Senate's Democratic floor leader.
