PITTSBURGH (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) - A cold front from Siberia is bring an Arctic blast to our area Monday night.

AccuWeather meteorologist Heather Zehr tells Larry and John that afternoon rain will turn to snow overnight accumulating 1-3 inches.

Areas around Interstate 80 and north could see 3-6 inches of snow.

Temperatures by daybreak on Tuesday will be around 29 making it cold enough for the snow to stick.

“One to three inches of snow with slippery travel seems to be a pretty good guarantee,” said Zehr. “Winds are picking up as well so you’re going to come out tomorrow morning to a whole different world with snow on the ground and cold winds making it feel like it’s in the teens.”

Temperatures will continue to fall through the day Tuesday with snow continuing to fall.

“It will feel no better than the teens all day long,” said Zehr.

Temperatures Tuesday evening will dip to 15. The record is 13.
