State Funding Boosts Local Transportation, Pedestrian Projects

$49 million in grants announced throughout Pennsylvania

HARRISBURG (NewsRadio 1020 KDKA) — Local infrastructure projects are getting a boost from the state's Multimodal Transportation Fund.

$49 million will help fund 42 highway, bridge, transit, ports and waterways, and bike and pedestrian projects throughout the state.

Allegheny County will see over $3.6 million of it for McKeesport's Steel Valley Trail improvements and intersection and sidewalk work in Ross Township.

Summit Township, Butler County will receive about $1.3 million for Bonniebrook Road corridor improvements.

Armstrong County has been granted just over $470,000 for local bridge repairs in several townships.
