AMBRIDGE (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) - Ambridge Police are investigating a mysterious incident. The decomposing bodies of two men were found inside a two-story home Tuesday night on Elm Road.

Neighbors first noticed a stench coming from the home on Elm Road a few weeks ago and finally called police.

Lt. Brian Jameson tells KDKA Radio, “One of my officer responded to the scene. He was able to determine the odor was coming from a house on Elm Road. He went up and checked the porch to knock on the door, the house was secured and mail had been piling up on the porch.”

Jameson adds firefighters used a ladder to search inside the second floor where they found two bodies. One man was found dead inside a hallway and another on a bed.

There were no obvious signs or foul play, but they are treating the deaths as suspicious for now.

“There was nothing else really suspicious in the situation other than the fact that there ended up being two bodies,” said Jameson.

Neighbors think the men may be the homeowner and his caregiver, both in their 60s and 70s.

An autopsy may offer more clues.
