PITTSBURGH (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) - The Allegheny County Health Department confirmed on Tuesday two raccoons from the Pittsburgh area have tested positive for rabies.

The first raccoon was found near the 1500 block of Duffield Street at the Morningside/ Stanton Heights boarder. The other was on Racine Avenue in Mount Lebanon.

The health department urges you to call local authorities, animal control or the PA Game Commission if you see an animal acting strange and adds to stay away from wild animals even if they appear healthy.

This makes 19 reported rabid animals found in the county this year. That includes eight raccoons, seven bats, two cats, one groundhog and one fox.
