PITTSBURGH (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) - The Washington Boulevard flood gates are out of operation again.

Pittsburgh Public safety officials say a vehicle crash Friday night caused significant damage to equipment on a pole that housed the master operations system.

The female driver of the SUV involved in the crash was trapped in the vehicle until crews could rescue here. She was last reported in stable condition.

City Operations Director Guy Costa says the system will be down until replacement parts can be ordered.

Until then, police from Zone 5 will manually set up barriers if there's a risk of high water in that flood-prone area of the East End.
