Weekend Roadwork: Lane Restrictions On Rt. 28, Parkways North, East

PITTSBURGH (NewsRadio 1020 KDKA) — Buckle up! It’s another weekend of roadwork in Pittsburgh.

Parkway North improvement projects continue, with lane and ramp restrictions starting Friday.

Southbound I-279 will be down to a single lane between the East Street and East Ohio Street exits from 7 p.m. Friday to 10 a.m. Saturday.

Northbound I-279 will be reduced to a single lane between Suffolk Street Bridge and McKnight Road/Evergreen Road and from Perrysville Avenue to Camp Horne Road from 7 p.m. Friday through 8 p.m. Sunday.

There will also be short closures of the ramps for Hazlett Street and from the HOV lanes to northbound I-279 between Saturday and Sunday.

Paving continues on the Parkway East.

Inbound I-376 will be down to one lane between Edgewood/Swissvale and Oakland North 885 from 9 p.m. Friday through 6 p.m. Saturday.

Outbound drivers will be down to a single lane between the Bates Street on-ramp and the Edgewood/Swissvale interchange from 9 p.m. Friday through 10 p.m. Saturday.

The Bates Street on-ramp to eastbound I-376 will be closed from 9 p.m. Friday through 10 p.m. Saturday.

The Beechwood Boulevard/Forward Avenue on-ramps A and C to the inbound Parkway East shuts down from 9 p.m. Friday through 6 p.m. Saturday.

Drivers should be aware of moving lane restrictions in both directions between Edgewood/Swissvale and the Turnpike.

We’re not done yet! There will be lane restrictions on Route 28 for paving work.

Single-lane restrictions between the Tarentum/New Kensington and Freeport/Millerstown interchanges will occur southbound from 9 a.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday and northbound from 7 p.m. Friday to 2 p.m. Tuesday.

The Route 366 (Bull Creek Road) on-ramp to southbound Route 28 and northbound Route 28 off-ramp to Route 366 will be closed from 8 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday.

And in case that wasn’t enough, the Andy Warhol (Seventh Street) Bridge will be closed to vehicular traffic from 7 a.m. Saturday to 6 a.m. Monday for bridge deck sealing.

Detours will be posted.
