PITTSBURGH (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) - Governor Tom Wolf is not supporting Pittsburgh Mayor Bill Peduto's recent call to legalize marijuana across Pennsylvania.

Wolf tells the KDKA Radio Morning News, he's talked to Pennsylvanian's across the state and feels the support isn't there, but that doesn't mean the measure is dead in the water.

“Doesn’t seem like a majority of the citizens are for it but a referendum would be a way to determine that for certain.”

Auditor General Eugene DePasquale recently released a plan to legalize, regulate, and tax marijuana in Pennsylvania, something Peduto has publicly said he supports.

On Twitter last week, Peduto said: “I fully support Auditor General Eugene DePasquale’s plan to legalize, regulate, and tax marijuana in Pennsylvania.”

No word on when a possible referendum would be given to voters.
