PITTSBURGH (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) - Hard feelings remain between the Penn Hills and Connellsville school districts after a ruling Wednesday that Connellsville violated no rules in sending armed security guards to athletic events at Penn Hills.

The WPIAL said Connellsville has sent armed guards to some sports events for the past ten years and it criticized Penn Hills for not trying to resolve its differences with Connellsville directly.

The dispute started when Penn Hills alleged racial slurs at a boys’ soccer game at Connellsville.

Connellsville sent armed guards to several games at Penn Hills this month.

Now, Penn Hills girls’ volleyball coach Jay Mitlo writes in his blog they will not play at a make-up match at Connellsville Wednesday evening, adding it won't be about fun, sports or even America. It’s about racism, intimidation, and lack of respect.
