PITTSBURGH (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) - John Schalcosky, the Founder of the Odd, Mysterious and Fascinating History of Pittsburgh has joined the KDKA Radio team with his own podcast, the “Pittsburgh Oddcast”.

Every week Schalcosky will explore the most fascinating tales from Pittsburgh’s mysterious past by sharing unique facts lost to history…until now!

Schalcosky has been a regular on KDKA Radio programming for years covering multiple topics during each appearance, but the “Oddcast” gives him an opportunity to explore one topic, in depth each week.

Pittsburgh has a long history, one that extends way beyond its founding in 1758. One that goes back MILLIONS of years!

In the premier episode, Schalcosky journeys back in time hundreds of millions of years ago with you to an age filled with giant salamanders, seashells on top of mountains, ancient bugs and mythical giants of whom our Rivers take their name. Wait, what?!?!

A 250 million year old Trilobite from right here in Pittsburgh!
