How Do We Protect Our Children While They Are At School?

The Mike Pintek Show

In the last few months there has been an increase in school shootings around the U.S.  This is leaving many people, parents, and students wondering how to keep children safe when they are at school.

During The Mike Pintek Show, Mike shared a CBS story out of Central Florida where they are training civilians to stop potential school shooters; they are calling them “School Safety Guardians.”  They are helping protect students and teachers at schools that don’t have their own armed guards or resource officers.

Locally, The Pennsylvania School Safety Task Force is meeting with teachers, parents, students, and community leaders to gather recommendations on how to improve school safety around the commonwealth.

Mike Pintek said, “A lot of people are saying we don’t want to arm teachers or administrators in schools, but why not?  Explain to me why not.”

Mike told listeners that when he was listening to The Chris Moore Show over the weekend a listener called in and said, praying is great but if someone is trying to break into my house prayer isn’t going to stop them, my gun will.

Mike added walkouts, sit its, protests, signs, and new gun laws are not going to protect you from the deranged, scum bags who get guns and walk into the schools and start shooting.  A bullet to the head will.

One listener called in and said, “Wouldn’t it be great for veterans to get jobs in school districts, I mean they are already trained to use they guns and would be able to protect students and teachers.”

Do you think teachers and administrators should be armed?   Or should that be the job of law enforcement?
