Long time Pittsburgh Post-Gazette Political Cartoonist, Rob Rogers has supposedly been fired for putting out anti-Trump cartoons.

People are outraged because they feel his First Amendment rights are under attack.

Mike Pintek asked his listeners if they believe this a First Amendment issue or not.

One listener, Shirley said, “It is not a First Amendment issue.  I don’t know if he was fired or not, but I bet he will be picked up by another newspaper and will benefit financially.  This is probably the best thing that could happen to him in this liberal anti-Trump climate.”

Mike Pintek does not think this a First Amendment issue at all.  He went on to say, “This whole First Amendment stuff is just ridiculous, it has nothing to do with it.  There is nothing in the First Amendment as a requirement that states you are able to exercise your rights in any particular way, at any particulat publication or radio station for that matter.”

Mike also added that he personally never thought any of Rob Rogers’s cartoons were funny.

Another listener, Tom said, “I passed by the so called Rob Rogers cartoons on occasion and that man is so full of hatred, it’s a wonder his head doesn’t explode.”

What is your opinion?  Is this a First Amendment Issue, should Rogers have been fired, if he even was?
